    no bosses

it seems like i want to word on this again.

    reading;
sister souljah - no disrespect ( i am completely fascinated)
balzac and the little chinese seamstress (for book club)
woody allen - mere anarchy (haven't started yet)

i read into the wild twice before I saw it in the theaters. twice. enough said.

    movies:
    into the wild
brand upon the brain (at the parkway, makes me want to start my own cinema theater)
    blow-up (at oak street)
darjeeling limited (twice, 2nd time with short included Part One: Hotel Chevalier)

    dvd'ed:
  • werckmeister harmonies by bela tarr (completely amazed by this filmmaker and his process of storytelling)

  • tried to watch mike leigh's naked, but not really my kinda movie. attempted day for night, but. will have to finish later.
will see, the lives of others when it arrives in the mail via netflix tomorrow.
    speaking of tomorrow-

CONTROL. Tomorrow night. I am excited.

harry dean stanton is now one of my heroes. after watching him in 1978's STRAIGHT TIME (with dustin hoffman) and then reading a recent interview in Stop Smiling's latest issue - I am convinced he's almighty. I must also mention that this issue is all on Los Angeles and all of it's film articles are great. especially the one on Billy Wilder and Ernst Lubitsch.

Stop Smiling: At what point did you being to pursue acting?
HDS: The Speech teacher was the director of the community theater connected to the college. I took a lot of speech lessons. He put me in a play -Pygmalion, I think it was. I did that and knew that's what I wanted to do. I didn't even finish college. I never wanted to finish any college or school. I started being rebellious at an early age. I didn't like any authority of any kind, including religion, God, or anybody. No Bosses.
