speaking of tomorrow-
CONTROL. Tomorrow night. I am excited.
harry dean stanton is now one of my heroes. after watching him in 1978's STRAIGHT TIME (with dustin hoffman) and then reading a recent interview in Stop Smiling's latest issue - I am convinced he's almighty. I must also mention that this issue is all on Los Angeles and all of it's film articles are great. especially the one on Billy Wilder and Ernst Lubitsch.
Stop Smiling: At what point did you being to pursue acting?
HDS: The Speech teacher was the director of the community theater connected to the college. I took a lot of speech lessons. He put me in a play -Pygmalion, I think it was. I did that and knew that's what I wanted to do. I didn't even finish college. I never wanted to finish any college or school. I started being rebellious at an early age. I didn't like any authority of any kind, including religion, God, or anybody. No Bosses.
