the seward cafe is a great experience. to how you order, to how you are served, and to how you clean off your own plates...it is something i have never experienced in california. it is also collectively run. there are so many great ideologies behind many of the organizations/businesses of minnesota. my rating for seward is always 10. if you bring ryan there make sure you watch him if you offer some of your fruit cup to him! you might reach for a blueberry or an some of an orange and well, it will be gone. ha. sorry ryan, poke poke poke!
yesterday, we filmed for the Soap Factory's 10 sec film festival. this involved going to the library, looking at civil war soldier portraits, and then making copies. it also involved, a walk to get eggs on Lake St and Jim Morrison impressions.
i really want to see a certain documentary. i remember ryan mentioning it to me last winter...knowing i would be interested....as i am an avid coffee drinker, but now i am concerned that i will not know when i will be able to see it. there is no release date for dvd, and it played last in the usa this past october...hmmm, it's called,
yesterday, at work a 16 yr old girl asked me if i was from the 70s. and i suggested that i look more like i am from the 60s. she agreed. she said, it's the hair. made this girl happy. sometimes, i can pull it off, i guess.

I snapped some photos, but the place was so crowded that I couldn't get to the front for better, less blurred shots. i brought dennis with and he seemed to love the novelty.
saturday, a day with my mom. in the evening after watching joy division under review, i ran over to new granada to help with ryan's show. only two bands actually played full sets when cops showed. everyone was thrown out of the building, even that minneapolis rock(???) band who have a space on the first floor,
it was messy. if you know ryan, make sure he knows he is in your thoughts. what happened on saturday night is stressing and he needs OUR support. He's done a lot for the punk community in MPLS.
